Tragic. A fellow workers son played baseball with Steve at NA and recieved passes to an upcoming homestand in KC. That is a pro, not forgetting where he came from, but the Tribune sure has...

I believe that this is worthy of a discussion among people who are concerned about the future of New Albany.
The failure of the Tribune and city government to recognize those from the city who go on to succeed on a national level could have a negative impact on the city (or at least make a positive impact less likely). If these people are not recognized by their hometown for their successes, they will probably be less likely to remember where they came from and support New Albany in the future. I’m not saying that we should have a ticker tape parade for every person from New Albany who gets a great new job, but, in this circumstance, is a mention in the paper too much to ask for?

Good point, Mutt. The performance of the local newspaper has much bearing on the dissemination of information, and information is the topic of many posts here on this blog.

I digress, as I am not a sports follwer. But, yes you're right, a successful New Albianan does deserve a bit of recognigtion.
The Tribune should really re-think it's position in this community.
And it's responsibilitiy to this community.
